What to Expect
Our 2nd event in the series brings you to the New Forest National Park. Taking place at Avon Tyrrell which dates back to 1891, in it’s time former home to Lord Manner, intelligence outpost and hospital during WW2, and now home to UK Charity UK Youth. This really is a fitting venue for such a magical place. The New Forest only being awarded National Park status back in 2005, is probably the gentlest of the Maverick Original series.
What it lacks in hills though is more than made up for in the beauty of the surroundings. Home to the New Forest ponies but also wild cattle, pigs and many more there’ll be plenty to feast the eye on whilst churning out those miles.
Again with 3 route lengths to choose from you can decide on your challenge but each route will give you plenty of variety in terrain. With nice wide gravel paths through the vast heathland, to more technical narrow trails through the wetter lowlands and the dense woodland home to some of the UK’s largest trees.If you’re new to trail running this would be a great place start.
Equally, if you’re a more experienced runner this would be great one to run with the family. Either way we look forward to welcoming you to the Maverick Family, and remember – the outdoors awaits…….
