What to Expect
Polseden Lacey is the home of the first Maverick Race Original series race and this historic location serves up some incredible trails. “This is a delicious house,” remarked Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother on her honeymoon at Polseden Lacey. This country retreat, only four miles from Dorking and junction 9 of the M25, has glorious views across the rolling Surrey hills and acres of countryside.
It was home to famous Edwardian hostess Mrs Greville, who entertained royalty and the celebrities of her time. The routes we have designed here in the Surrey hills have been designed to test you and if there’s one word that describes this event it’s – Brutiful! With more ups and downs than a ride at Thorpe Park, this course will have you reaching for your water bottles and your OTE nutrition faster than you know it. We don’t plot routes to make them easy – we want you to become a Maverick and challenge yourself.
With 3 routes to choose from, there’s something for everyone here in Polseden. If you have family members who want to soak up the atmosphere then bring them along for a stroll in the historic grounds. Or they can cheer you on, and just grab a bite to eat from the guys at Soul & Pepper. Whatever you decide, we’re sure you’ll have an epic day out here with the Mavericks, and remember – the outdoors awaits………
