After five years of work Snowdonia have created the longest underground adventure in the world. A 5km long course featuring the world’s deepest zip wire, a seated zip ride, a 70ft freefall, and the deepest accessible point in Britain, is all 1,300ft underground and is now open to the public.
The full course which runs deep under the Welsh mountains through abandoned mines will take a full day to complete with nine zip wires, 14 traverses, three bridges, three abseils and a freefall as part of the route.
The 130m underground zip wire will end with a 70ft sheer cliff drop
Named Go Below Xtreme, the zip line is 130 metres long and runs down a steep cavern which is so long that it has a seat. This seat slowly travels down so you can enjoy the underground surroundings. The route ends with a 70ft sheer cliff drop offering a freefall or abseil option to adventurers brave enough to enter.
The underground surroundings of the mines haven’t been seen since the 1800′s when mining was carried out in the area creating a thrilling blast from the past. There’s three options starting with a 5 hour trip at £39 and a full day £59 or £79 per person.
