Muddy Race and Judgement Day present 7 top tips to survive this Sundays Judgement Day Bagshot event. If you’re going, find us at our gazebo to say hello!

The details:

- Men’s Teams will start with two large (red) sandbags
- Women’s Teams will start with two blue (medium) sandbags
- Mixed Teams will start with one large (red) and one medium (blue) sandbag.
- Each team will start with two car tyres
- Cross the line with everything you started with!

1. Two people per sandbag are better than one

The sandbags have handles so carry a handle each at a constant pace. This is much more effective than taking it in turns to carry the bags.

2. There is a 2 mile stretch of steep hills

Shorten your stride, lean forwards and push off from the ball of your foot - the heel shouldn’t touch the ground.

3. Trail shoes are best

We always recommend trail shoes and for those of you who are really into them we’d pick Trailroc‘s over X-Talons or Bare Grips!

4. Practise Crawling With A Sandbag

You won’t just be carrying them.

5. Work as a team

Don’t try and be a hero…..this is as much about strategy as it is strength.

6. Don’t split up

Your team doesn’t complete the race until all of you have crossed the line and carrying your two sandbags and two car tyres.

7. Smile you’re on camera!

Mark Buller (Judgement Day Race director) sums up this weekends event with:

More than anything this is about bringing the OCR community together for an end of year challenge and to get people working as a team. This may not be your ‘usual’ obstacle race but carrying objects over 5 miles is no easy task

Give a Sandbag a home for christmas

For those of you who want to buy a sandbag Judgement Day are selling them for £40 (Large) and £35 (Small) immediately after the race CASH ONLY. It’s worth it as they’ll be appearing at all the future Judgement Day races…..
