The UK is abundant with fields, parks and farms that the regular Obstacle Races take place on but if money and logistics weren’t an issue where would you like to see an event?

Cheltenham Racecourse

Home of the famous National Hunt Festival, imagine having an OCR before a big meeting with 35,000 spectators cheering? Jumps racing is an obstacle race so wouldn’t it be amazing to have a human version at the venue of the famous Cheltenham Gold Cup? With hurdles already in place, an almost guaranteed soft going and a killer hill finish, the Cotswold track would be a brilliant venue. We’re pretty sure that Jonathon Albon would be the bookies favourite to win the OCR Gold Cup.

Buckingham Palace And Grounds

By Royal Appointment, OCR gets regal as the Queen would present the medals at the finish line. The land at the Monarch’s residence is 42 acres (same as a 9 hole golf course) and incorporating the palace in the route would be interesting for the cleaning staff as 1,000’s of Inov-8 trail mud throughout the banquet halls. The security fence is 12 feet high so perfect for walls.

Blackpool Promenade and Tower

Imagine a night race through the illuminations, across the beach, up and down the 3 piers, before a monster finishing obstacle of climbing the maintenance steps of the 518 feet Tower. Carb yourself up on candy floss and rock whilst wearing the compulsory fancy dress of a ‘Kiss Me Quick’ hat.

Blue Water Shopping Centre

97 acres of land in total could create the ultimate urban OCR. Run up the escalators, jump over the benches and the lakes within the grounds would make testing water hazards.

Heathrow Airport

A flat track but one for the endurance athlete; 3,000 acres of land could accommodate an OCR marathon. Baggage carousels set in reverse motion would be a challenge, dodging the planes, jumping the coaches are just some ideas.
