The 33 year old student nurse, originally from Newcastle, sadly spent all his childhood in care and knows first-hand the important work the NSPCC charity do for children. Stephen has always been a regular fundraiser for the NSPCC, his previous charity exploits included sponsored shaves and waxes. This regular fundraiser and fitness fanatic was however about to take on a new challenge with ‘The Killer Six’.

Throughout all six events, Stephen increased the task of the challenge by running them with army issue boots and a 35kg backpack to boot. With training and motivational help from Forces UK Fitness, Stephen completed The Killer Six and raised £2000. The money raised will go towards the services the NSPCC delivers across Manchester and the UK.

The Killer Six Challenge includes

• Badass Mucker, Lancaster – a hilly 10km OCR
• Total Warrior, Lake District – 10km OCR across the Cumbrian fells
• Paras 10, Catterick – 10 miles in Yorkshire across bogs and undulating land
• The Great North Run – famous North East half marathon with over 1,000,000 finishers since its inception in 1981
• Tough Mudder, North West – 20km OCR across a Cheshire estate.
• Born Survivor – a 10km military obstacle race near Manchester

2014 Charity Heroes Stephen Burn’s sums up his Summer of running as…

I’ve always wanted to turn the negative experience of my childhood into something positive and help raise money and awareness to help keep children safe, and I hope the money raised from the Killer 6 will do that

This is only the beginning for the fundraising hero as 2015 will see Stephen complete several coast to coast and point to point events that will see him run, walk, cycle and even canoe, raising money and awareness for the NSPCC.

Muddy Race commend you and look forward to following your 2015 achievements. To donate and for more details visit www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Burn charity NSPCC
