  1. This was a really enjoyable race, the conditions were perfect for a race based around the water and the race was well organised, as I’ve come to expect from the Xrunner team.

The bling from this race was also as I’ve come to expect from Xrunner a good quality technical t-shirt, medal and gym bag containing some post race food and drink.

If there are any criticism that I could make it would probably be a lack of mud at places around the course but it’s nice to have a variety; but other than that there isn’t much that I’d change. If you want mud their other events more than make up for this – check out Wild Warrior in Derby.

I would recommend this race to anyone who can swim; I managed to complete this race without being competent at any recognised swimming stroke so even a poor swimmer like myself can manage the event in safety.

  2. X-Runner Water Wipeout was a well organised event, this year feeling more geared towards newbies and fun-runners but still had a few show stopper obstacles to impress. It is the ideal event to take a friend that you are trying to introduce to Obstacle Course Racing and Mud Running. With the option to complete one or two 5km laps and varied difficulty obstacles it is an ideal first event, however the lack of timing and the multi lap course probably makes it less suitable for the “hardcore” racers out there.
