About this event

This is where it started. ROCKSOLID RACE was born at this location, and thousands of contenders attendded in Exeter for the South West’s largest obstacle race, a challenge that pushes them to – and beyond – the limits they thought they had.

Over 5,000 people head out into Escot Park to take on the infamous inclines, lush lakes and, yes, the mud at the 5k, 10k and 20k obstacle course races. Thousands of those contenders are returning ROCKSOLID RACE Champions, because over half of ROCKSOLID runners are repeat runners. So look out mud virgins, this could become a dirty habit.

These obstacles are going to take you to your limits as you conquer fear, work as a team and push through the fatigue to earn your reward as a ROCKSOLID RACE Champion – a piping-hot shower and a legendary after-party.

Is your team ready to smash it?

I spent the weekend at Rock Solid- Marshalling one day and Racing the other. I can honestly say it was a superb weekend from start to finish. RS look after their staff incredibly well, and I loved every second of the working day.
As for the race, I did the 15km. There was mud in abundance. The 3 different routes were very clearly signed depending on which distance you wanted to take on. Obstacles were a brilliant mix of the regular climbing walls and hay bales etc that you see at most races..but there was also some slightly more challenging ones too, like the hydro slide.. muddy dunk, and a huge cargo net to climb your way over.
The medal was great, with each having a different colour ribbon to show the different distances. Free hot showers and a bar with DJ finished off a perfect race day!

First time I’ve done this race and I must say it has been an amazing experience from start to finish. The course was fantastic and well laid out with a good mixture of obstacles including the race norms and mud, mud with some more mud.
Also my first crack at volunteering and they defiantly look after their staff. Thank you Rock Solid for a brilliant weekend I will certainly be seeing you next year.
If I had to find any fault then I would say the bag drop went a bit tits up on the Saturday however this was swiftly rectified by the Sunday
