Are you ready to push your body to the limit in a fun experience that will test your speed, stamina and strength?

If so, then you might want to consider signing up for the Man vs Lakes adventure.

This challenge has been running for years and is a fun way to explore your limits. Taking place in the Lake District, this adventure lasts half a day, starting at Morecambe Bay and ending at Coniston.

What Is The Man Vs Lakes Challenge?

The Man Vs Lakes challenge is an epic adventure where you will need to swing, run, wade and swim to complete the course. You’ll start by passing through the incredible quicksands of Morecambe Bay.

Once you have completed this part of the course, you will then head North on a running route that will bring you to the edge of one of the most famous lakes in England.

Here, your journey continues as you venture higher into the forest and hills of this area.

Ultimately, you will need to wade into the water. You will have to tackle slides, jumps and short swims. There’s even an incredible floating assault course.

Of course, this adventure isn’t complete without the signature vertical kilometre. This is as tough as it sounds and you’ll need to climb 4200 feet up.

The final part of the course takes you right into the heart of the area where you will need to complete a kayak loop on Lake Coniston. Once you have completed this last challenge you will be able to pass through the finish line.

Does this not sound like enough of a thrill ride? In 2021, you ill be able to upgrade for a second day where you’ll need to climb Scafell Summitt.

This is sure to separate the men from the boys. The second part of the challenge is reserved for only the most skilled runners.

Do You Need To Be Able To Swim

If you’re not a strong swimmer, you might be put off this challenge.

However, it’s important to note that this event is a run, not a swim. While there are definitely times when you will get wet, there are always options available including buoyancy aids.

There is also safety staff on the side to ensure that you will never be in any danger when you take to the water.

If you do want to take part in the water parts of the course, then you do need to ensure that you can swim. If you are unable to swim, you can bypass this part of the challenge.

What Do You Get For Participating?

This is a great event and it’s sure to be a fun day out, however, also get plenty of merch for participating that you won’t want to miss.

This does include a collectable rat rag and a trinity metal wedge. Along the racecourse, you’ll find that there are fully stocked pit stops.

This is ideal if you do find that you need an extra burst of energy to complete the race itself.

There’s even some hot soup to enjoy at the finish line and you’re definitely going to want to take advantage of this after a long day wading through the waters and running up the mountains.

Who Is This Designed For?

This race can be up to 30 miles long. This does mean that you will need to have a certain level of fitness to successfully complete the course.

You should be prepared for a long day on your feet and be comfortable with a full marathon.

It is important that you have experience and have trained for a course that takes place largely off-road.

If you are not ready for this type of challenge, then you will struggle. You’ll also need to make sure that you are fully nourished for the event even though there will be options available on the day.

The second day that is an optional extra is only suitable for those ready for the toughest endurance challenge.
